They are all in the same class with Largo as their English Teacher. Today, they will be going on their first field trip... *Breakfast scene in the Sonoda residence* "<Yuki,>" Meimi-san asked, "<have you got everything for your field trip today?>" "<Yes Mama. Some money, a notebook and pencils. Have you got my packed lunch ready?>" "<That's not a lot you're taking, haven't you forgotten something?>" "<It's everything written on the letter,>" Yuki said as she produced the letter from her bag. Meimi-san read through the very short list and vague descriptions. "<Well, here's your packed lunch. If you realised you forgot something, call me right away on my cell phone and I'll bring it to you.>" "<Thank you Mama.>" "<Why would you need a packed lunch?>" Yuuji teased. "<Aren't you being taken outdoors to graze in the open fields?>" That earned him a stab from the rear end of Yuki's chopsticks. As yet another Sibling Skirmish started, Inspector Sonoda got up from the table. "<Leaving so soon dear?>" his wife enquired. "<I'm afraid so. We're doing an extensive training session today and I have to be there to make sure all the cadets are organised and ready to go to the training facilities.>" "<Don't push yourself too hard dear. Here's your lunch!>" "<I won't! Yuki, enjoy your field trip.>" "<Bai Bai Papa!>" "<Oh she'll enjoy it alright,>" Yuuji snickered. "<The lush green meadows, the- URK!>" *Yuki, Mami and Asako are walking to school together* "<Yuki-chan! Mami-chan!>" exclaimed the ever-genki Asako. "<Are you looking forward to our field trip today?>" "<I don't know Asako,>" replied Yuki, "<I don't know whether we should be. Have you heard where Largo-sensei takes his students for his field trips?>" "<Uh huh, the Sempais all say they go to places where they have lots of fun!>" "<Asako! Is it right to go to a gaming centre for a school field trip?!?>" "<Largo-sensei's students always come top,>" chipped in Mami, observant as always. "<His methods may be unorthodox but he gets far better results than any other English teacher has ever achieved before at this school.>" "<But still,>" said Yuki. "<I'm having trouble accepting the fact that the school would let tax funded school hours be spent on playing Arcade games! I'm glad my parents didn't ask too much where I was going. I wouldn't have been able to bear telling them the straight truth.>" "<Why is Yuki all gloomy?>" asked Asako to Mami behind Yuki's back. "<Shouldn't she be happy we're going on a field trip?>" "<I think it's because she can't go to NIA as usual for lunch.>" answered Mami. "<The one that's near MegaGamers where her 'Piro-sensei' works...>" "<Hey!>" said the annoyed Yuki. "<I do not try to visit him every lunchtime! You two insist on following me anyway!>" "<Wow, do you still go on a date with him every Monday and Thursday evening at 7 PM?>" cheerfully asked Asako. "<Will you please leave me alone about my Drawing lessons?? I pay him with my own money. I am not dating him!>" "<So you see him twice a week in the evenings, have a good time in his company without us around and you use up your allowance everytime you meet him. Isn't that classified as a date?>" pointed out Mami with a smile. "<Mami...>" *Largo's class arrive at the 1 Yen Arcade* "Class! This is our destination!" announced GTL. "In this facility your predecessors learnt the skillz necessary for survival! And you shall do so too on this day!" As Yuki enters the gaming centre, she hears a very familiar voice. "<Do you see now why you must always be alert? If this had been a real life situation, an unscheduled rampage would have gone unchecked whilst you struggle to get out of your unit! Our Repair and Redecoration department would be over-stretch if even a small fraction of unscheduled rampages get out of hand."> "<PAPA?!?>" exclaimed Yuki in utter shock, "<What are you doing here?>" She felt apprehensive about what her father would do, finding her here during lesson time. "Hey Dude!" Largo casually approached the Inspector. "How goes the training?" "They're in their early days Lieutenant, they have yet to show us what they're really capable of." replied Masamichi, slightly annoyed with Largo's disregardence of rank. "<Papa! I thought you were going to a training facility for the day. That's what you said at breakfast wasn't it?>" "<Yes Yuki. This is the training facility. Lieutenant Largo's new training programme has allowed us to successfully reduce the number of unscheduled rampages growing out of hand by 80%. The TPCD has adopted his training methods into standard training.>" "Maybe we can have a drink later Masa-dude. I gotta teach my class now." Largo then turned to address his class. "Class, get out your notepads and writing implements! Take down my dictation of what you will strive to achieve by the end of this field trip! Each time you lose, you are to note down the reasons and how to prevent it from happening next time! ......" The students obediently wrote down his words, then got on with their 'training' next to the TPCD cadets. "<Yuki-chan!>" Asako said, "<Don't waste your time just standing there! Do as Largo-sensei says!>" |
